Milos — The Most Geologically Spectacular Island in Greece
Milos is a volcanic island, and it shows: the coastline is a geological museum of white pumice formations, ochre cliffs, turquoise coves, and sea caves carved by centuries of wave action through volcanic rock. Sarakiniko, the moonscape of white pumice at the island's north, is the most otherworldly landscape in the Aegean. Kleftiko, accessible only by boat, is a labyrinth of sea caves where pirate ships hid in the 17th century.
