November to March in Greece offers experiences unavailable in any other season. Athens' cultural calendar — National Theatre season, Athens Concert Hall programme, museum exhibitions — is at its fullest. The ski resort of Arachova (1,500m above sea level, 9km from Delphi, 3 hours from Athens) offers excellent skiing with Delphi as a same-day archaeological visit. Meteora in February, when the rocks are dusted with snow and the monasteries are wrapped in cloud, is the most atmospheric version of the site in any season.
