The Acropolis Museum After Hours
The Acropolis Museum — designed by Bernard Tschumi, opened 2009, housing the complete surviving sculptural programme of the Acropolis — is one of the finest museum buildings in the world. Its top floor, glass-walled with a direct view of the Parthenon above, contains the assembled Frieze, Metopes, and Pediment sculptures in their original spatial relationship. FFGR Greece arranges private after-hours access to this gallery through cultural institution partnerships.
The Private Evening
Your guide meets you at the museum entrance at dusk — the moment when the Parthenon above is illuminated and the glass top floor becomes a theatre of light. Two hours in the Frieze gallery with your specialist: the story of every surviving section, the gaps where the Elgin Marbles were removed, the recent replicas installed in their place. Dinner reservation at a Plaka restaurant follows.
Museum Membership Programme
FFGR Greece maintains a Friends of the Acropolis Museum relationship. Members receive advance notification of special exhibitions and private events throughout the year.
